The Challenge The sports card hobby has long relied on the opinion of a single grader — an anonymous stranger giving one number that can make or break a card's value. Eye Appeal Inc. wanted to build something fundamentally different: a platform where the collector community is the market, and the market's voice actually matters. The challenge was building a product ecosystem complex enough to support that vision without feeling overwhelming to use.

The Solution I developed a full-featured web platform anchored around the Rate-to-Reveal mechanic — an AI-assisted game that blurs the grading label so collectors can evaluate cards on visual appeal alone. Their ratings collectively power EyeQ+, a new community-generated standard for measuring the gap between eye appeal and technical grade. The site includes a live collector feed, a searchable global registry, an integrated auction house, and a tiered community system culminating in The Council of Eyes — an earned status for the platform's most trusted raters.
